The Ultrasound Academy Association is proud to announce an important international recognition: the conference “Prenatal Ultrasound in Clinical Practice” has been officially approved by the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) as an ISUOG Approved Course.
The event will take place on 31 October 2026 and represents a significant milestone for medical education in Georgia — for the first time, an ISUOG Approved Course will be held in Georgia, in accordance with international standards and ISUOG’s educational principles.
The course will feature ISUOG Ambassadors and international faculty members, who will share up-to-date knowledge, clinical expertise, and international best practices in prenatal ultrasound. The event also aims to bring together specialists from Georgia and across the South Caucasus, strengthen professional connections, and support the advancement of high-quality ultrasound education throughout the region.
Conference Objectives
The primary objective of the course is to provide structured, evidence-based, and practice-oriented education in prenatal ultrasound in accordance with ISUOG guidelines and educational principles.
The educational programme will enable participants to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practical skills across key areas of prenatal ultrasound, including:
- Standard first-trimester ultrasound examination;
- Standard second-trimester ultrasound examination;
- Systematic assessment of fetal anatomy and identification of fetal abnormalities;
- Evaluation of clinically significant ultrasound markers in prenatal diagnosis;
- Fundamental principles of ultrasound assessment of the fetal central nervous system and heart;
- Contemporary approaches to Doppler ultrasound and their clinical application;
- Ultrasound assessment of multiple pregnancies and key principles of monitoring;
- Integration of international recommendations into everyday clinical practice.
International Collaboration and Regional Significance
Hosting an ISUOG Approved Course in Georgia for the first time represents an important step toward further integrating ultrasound education in Georgia into the international medical education community.
The event provides specialists from Georgia and other South Caucasus countries with direct access to international expertise, contemporary clinical approaches, and professional recommendations developed by ISUOG.
The course will also serve as a platform for knowledge and experience sharing, strengthening professional collaboration, and developing international and regional professional networks.
